Beauty, flowers – it is always inspiration, the rush of creative thinking. About beauty, about colors from which they make poems, songs, paint on canvas with colors, writing music. Each of the makers of something beautiful has its own instrument: the artist has a brush, the musician has notes and instruments, and poets and writers have sentences and words.

Close your eyes and flight mentally to the wonderful world of colors, the world of smells, colors, sensations.

The flowers

Painting is playing with colors, proportion and feelings.  Colors get shaped and shapes become alive.

When I have found the right proportion and tones of color, figures are created. Then I change the shape of the figure and the whole composition will be rebuilt. Time after time, color after color and shape after shape. Until I have found the right dimension – in perfection – and I keep on working and seek for the new perfection.

Then comes the moment, after which the work is almost finished and on which the final figure is based. Where the final affinity is that the final figure is found between all parts. And then it’s not necessary to add anything more, except to paint it again. Time after time.

The Moments

I tried to give naturalness and life to the image of the real world in these works. At the same time, it emphasizes the mobility and variability of reality - the world itself and human feelings.

Mirage

I did not go halfway when the heaven started to rain. The last glimpse of the sun was hidden behind the clouds and they seemed very sadly.

But I pursued, no matter what. When I came to the right place, the world seemed to have changed. The forest plays with different colors. All the yellow has changed to golden tones and all the green has been given a rubyred color glow.

The Forest

This series ‘Black &amp; Touch’ stands for: majestic, strict and charming, built up by contrast and graceful movements. By using fine lines, the movement on the canvas and the color scheme of black and white, these works fit very well with the Japanese culture of music and dance.

With this series I want to tell a different story than my earlier works, where I only worked with bright and lively colors. With this series of paintings a story is told, as if it were a fascinating  Japanese dance, in which the combination of antipoles, light and dark, play the perfect role.

Black &amp; Touch

French motives, I wanted to express here a slight movement of the petals. Unobtrusive colors create shape.

Mauve

French tulips have always been something special to me. Tulips are very beautiful when they bloom. And the most beautiful tulips I ever saw in my youth, grew in my mothers neigbourhood. They were of a rare kind. These tulips had a light pink color, some even white-pink, such a delicate teint. And the sun shined through the thinnest leafs. On the lawn of the flower bed, these tulips looked simply heavenly.
