James Bay Gimme V 2015 V festival Official Portrait

James Bay created a number of drawings, a self portrait and signed a portrait by Wilkinson. This official portrait combines the on-stage sketch with the backstage reference and includes references to influences that James Bay and James Wilkinson discussed. The Gimme V portraits were the main theme of 2015 where the subjects agreed to give Wilkinson 5 things, not just objects but self portraits, plugs for the charity and signed items to help raise money for Little Havens Hospice. In its 21 year history James Wilkinson was the only artist ever appointed as the Official artist to the V Festival. During his time there he collaborated with the performers and staff, backstage and on-stage,to create paintings, sketches, photographs and videos that were displayed and sold in annual exhibitions to raise money for the local Childrens hospice and cancer charities.
